Neighbour digging...what could it be?

It was the wife's parents house before and they extended years ago. The front is paved so I assume storage was another part of the shed at the back. My dad does the verge outside for them.

This is turning into quite a neighbourhood conversation. My mother went to the Easter vigil and went back to a neighbour's house for a glass of wine. Anyway the topic of what these were doing came up so 5 70 year women all peered out the window from the other side at 2am with torches. I am glad my mother was not one of them!
 
Have you ever seen the film 'The burbs'? sounds just like it (loved that film when I was younger)
 
You try living in it. The perils of being an only child of retired parents! I shall phone home after the news for the latest update as my dad should be down from upstairs reconnaissance after that. Should there be any major developments shall update!
 
Be careful. They could be developing nuclear capabilities. Could be a missile silo. Get the neighbourhood drone to check it out. Then bring it to the United Neighbours Security Council, they'll condemn it and pass a resolution to disarm. If they fail to comply, then a preemptive strike, followed by a liberation war and then an occupation army for about 10 years. And you and the neighbours get to drink all the wine.
