Need to enter PIN for movie channels on NTL?

I got the movie channels in last week on NTL.

for the first time tpoday i have been asked to enter a PIN to view them.
I rang up NTL and got teh pin.

It seems to be quite an inconvenience though in that when you go from one movie channle to the next you must enter this PIN every time.

Does this happen always?

The one i was talking to in NTL just said it happens sometimes and couldn't give specific times.
She was quite vague.

Surely this can't be required all teh time?

It didn't happen at all for the last week.

Anyone else have experience of this?

Have you confirmed that it isn't related to Parental Control settings?
 
Well the one i was talking to said it happens sometimes and was unable to clarify further when i questioned her for exact details.

Parental control settings didn't occur to me.

She didn't mention it either.

Does this happen to other people?

Am i correct in assuming this can't be the workin design?

Can other people just browse throuigh these channels without a PIN?
 
Don't know about NTL, but Sky movies requests your PIN if they are showing -I think it's higher rating than 12+ movies - before the 9pm watershed.

Movies with a wider rating show normally.
 
The pin must be entered on each movie channel up to 10pm each day. After 10pm you dont need to enter.
When I queried this I was told that there was no way to turn the pin authentication off, you have to enter it each time on each channel until 10pm. It allows NTL show movies at any time of the day rather than showing them after a 9pm watershed ... hope this helps
