A doorframe is an assembly of discrete pieces of timber which can be disassembled relatively easily by a suitably skilled craftsman. The inner portion of the doorframe which is anchored to the walls for strength and security remains in situ and the outer "dressing" is all that needs alteration, with appropriate changes to the hardware.
