Need Solid Wood Front Door

Hi
I saw a fab door on dublin door store but when i enquired about it they only do the one measurement and its too small for our house..
I cannot find a similar door anywhere on the net :(

Can anyone tell me where you think i may find a similar one??

How far off is t from the size of your door as a good carpenter should be able to take some off it, but you will need to talk to them about how is is manufactured. Some doors are engineered and don't lend themselves to being altered. I'd ask them about it in the shop & if suitable it may be worth getting them to install it....may cost abit more but definately saves in the "it was his fault" arguement that may arise if any problems!

What size is you doorway?
 
Are we talking millimeters or centimeters difference?

Leaving aside planning, fire, wheelchair needs and regulations for a moment, a decent carpenter could make minor alterations to the doorframe to accommodate the door you want.

A doorframe is an assembly of discrete pieces of timber which can be disassembled relatively easily by a suitably skilled craftsman. The inner portion of the doorframe which is anchored to the walls for strength and security remains in situ and the outer "dressing" is all that needs alteration, with appropriate changes to the hardware.

Thanks for replies...

The door in question is 915 x 2135 and our front door space is 1050 x 2250
so it isnt possible to get around that without it looking like a patch up job!!

By any chance is your house an old house?
