If I decide to move suppliers can I " bring" this credit with me ?

You may be worrying unnecessarily as the Bord Gais rates are quite good generally.

Have a look at Bonkers, Switcher and possibly www.energypal.ie to check out the rates available but probably best to wait until your contract is up to make any move in light of the credit.

Just so you know, if you've both gas and electricity with Bord Gais, you can transfer credit between electricity and gas accounts. You just need to contact them and it was very easy. Just going forward it might help you ensure that you use them up so you're not worrying.

I was with Bord Gais and moved to Electric Ireland. I did have €210.00 credit at the time of the switchover. I was told by Electric Ireland it would be refunded. I gave it a few weeks and then I rang Bord Gais and they refunded it to my bank account.
