Money laundering, literally. €20 drenched in coffee

Hello,

I have a €20 note that was accidentally drenched in coffee and left there for some time. (Incident in a car)

I took it to an AIB branch. They gave me a Central Bank form but said they no longer sent such money to the CB and that I would need to use registered post. However, registered post is €9.50 which kinda defeats the purpose. The form also says I can bring it to the CB in Dublin 1 in person, but I'm in Limerick.

So, maybe there is a way to clean this? I actually put it in a sock and ran it in the washing machine, as we had washing machine incidents before and banknotes were not damaged. This one was not damaged too but nor was it cleaned. What can I do to launder this money, literally?

Alternatively, apart from just waiting until the next Dublin trip, is there anything else I can do to get this exchanged? Maybe some banks still do send damaged banknotes to the CB?
 
Bank of Ireland, College Green, in the past accepted damaged notes.

They seemed to act as an agent of the central bank.

You could try a Bank of Ireland branch in Limerick.

You could also just post the note to the central bank by standard post.
 
See if you can find an arcade locally with a change machine.
They work off magnetic sensors, so coffee stains shouldn't affect it.
