Measuring for carpet - stairs and landing

Could someone please suggest how I might measure the amount of carpet I require for a stairs and landing?

if its a basic L shaped stairs and landing you need to measure the longest an widest point of the landing then measure from the wall facing the step over the step to the first thread and then the width of the neck. then just count the steps usually 13 and measure the width from stringer to stringer. leave 2 inchs on all the landing measurements and round the steps to the next inch.
