Massive problems with An Post deliveries

We moved to outside Listowel last Christmas. Ever since, we've been having problems with mail deliveries, particularly from the UK. To pre-empt, our postman is totally kosher, not his fault at all.

I've had one letter opened with a razor blade (photos inside, nothing taken), several parcels have disappeared and had to be resent. CDs and DVDs have gone missing. Packages and parcels from the UK and US can take anything up to 8 weeks.

Because none of the items were insured/registered, it's very hard to trace them. All the items are fairly low-value (under EUR 30) or Ebay, so used, but the hassle factor is getting to me. I now have items sent to Belfast and wait until my brother-in-law brings them down from Northern Ireland rather than have them sent to me here in North Kerry.

I've contacted An Post and I'm still waiting for response. I don't know if I can bring charges (against whom?) with the gardai. Has anybody out there come across this before?!?
 
Wow thats weird.Could the post staff not give you any possible reason?.

Is there anything unusual about your address?Maybe they are mixing your location with somewhere else.
 
We have moved, but only up the road. Our postie does the new house and his daughter delivers mail to our old house. We know both of them well, so once it gets to our local post office, there shouldn't be a problem. The problem seems to occur before it gets to our local office. Still haven't heard from An Post customer services so will continue chasing them.

Thanks for taking a interest though, I hate to think that there's a nasty person somewhere rifling through the mail...
