Did something happen at the Whitney Houston concert, or were the fans just disappointed (& Joe Duffy listeners).
What would be your number one low in 2010?
And what would be your number one high in 2010?
For me the low was "bertie in the kitchen press,.hard to explain, but I felt that we had reached rock bottom. symbolic of how politics is and how Ireland is going..ahh I dont know,it was just gut churning..
( Leaving aside world peace/hunger/homelessness/jobless etc )
And the high would be...eh....eh....Kilkenny been beaten
My Number 1 high of the year was definitely Graeme McDowell.
.
I was listening to this today and heard Joe express surprise/shock more than once at the low which is at number one.(Bertie in the cupboard )
I wonder does it say something about the public in general during the 'celtic tiger years'?
Just that our heads were up our arses for the vast majority of them!
personally speaking, I'd have put anything to do with X factor, the completley and utterly overrated and rip off Aviva stadium and the ICTU march in my list of lows for the year. I'd add the actions of certain TDs such as Jackie healy rae to the list as well.
As for highs, to be biased, Cork winning the All Ireland, I'd also add certain TDs deciding to "retire" and the response of many people to the snow, in particuler Irish Rail and Luas, and the actions of most people in my street getting out to sweep their paths, in general, it has improved the sense of community around the place
Fantastic alright. Far more "perfect" swings out there too. I think he honestly thinks that he's the best player in the world, but doesn't come across as cocky, just very positive. He's gonna have a good Xmas for sure.
I must take issue with you about the Aviva .
My 10 game football season ticket cost euro 395 and I'm seated on the half way line in the East Upper with 10 of my mates - great bargain.

Im not a bit surprised and in a way it gives me hope.
The reason it gives me hope is that the people see how this represents how low those in charge of running the country have gone, it shows that we put up with a lot, take a lot of pain etc, and yet that number one item, was the nuclear button for a lot of people.
It encapsulates the complete disenchantment people feel about FF.
What was really worrying was that Joe duffy ( The so called man of the people) was surprised by the result. In my opinon it is showing that he has lost touch with how people feel.
