LED GU10 bulb equivalent to 60 watt incandescent bulbs

Is it possible to obtain 3 x GU10 LED bulbs which would produce the same amount of light as 3 x 60 watt incandescent bulbs?

I have looked though LED bulbs seem to produce at most a lower wattage equivalent to perhaps just 35 watts at most.

I am just after buying the following light bulbs Eco Pal 2Watt Superbrite LED. They are a direct replacement for the 50W halogen bulbs. I tried a number of different led bulbs and these are the best that I have seen so far. They are a bit expensive but the halogens kept going on me so hopefully I should get my payback very fast.

It's just that in the living room there is a light fitting with three traditional bayonet fitting incandescent lightbulbs each with 60 w. So a total output of 180 w. This is to be changed to a light fitting taking three GU10 LED bulbs.

Would the light output from a 50 w halogen, which you mention, be directly comparable to the light output from a 50 w incandescent bulb?

If it is, then I suppose I would require an LED with just slightly higher output.
 
Hi Zoe,

They light is just as good as the halogen. It is though a small bit whiter in colour than the halogen but not much.
 
Will they be mains or low voltage GU10s? There's a difference in the light output!

Also, GU10s will spread light over a narrower angle than incancescents.

Oh, I'm not sure as they haven't been purchased yet. At the moment I'm just trying to gain a bit of info as this is something I'm knowledgeable about.

I think "mains" is the answer to your question as it would simply be replacing the main light fitting in the living room.

As the intention is to replace a light fitting which has three 60W incandescent bayonet bulbs with something more energy efficient but still producing the same amount of light, would you have any suggestions on what will do this?

I suppose a narrow angle is not required as it is for the main central lighting in a living room.
