Our 10+ year old CRT TV (please don't snigger) is having "colour problems" so I'm looking for an LCD alternative but I'm unsure of which size to go for. The CRT is 26" viewed at a distance of approximately 3.5 to 4 metres and I find it a little small. What would be a good size for that kind of distance?
Any recommendations? I'm hoping to get decent one for under €1000. Is that realistic?
I would be interested in watching HP vodcasts by connecting a laptop to the TV. We don't have a Blu-ray player or HD TV channels at the moment.

you probly know of course that CRT pic is still Streets ahead of LCD. The only good Reason to change (apart from wanting to be up to date) is Power Consumpion.
get it fixed cheaply. Were being sold a con. all flat tellys have worse picture that the old tv's when viewing standard broadcast tv. Thats progress for you. All flat tvs in showrooms show dvds (bytes of info) , sky hd piped tv (more bytes) or cartoons which have no flesh tones to recreate - never standard broadcast tv which we spend 99% of our time watching.
