Hi. Our health is insurance is due for renewal in about six weeks. Out plan at the moment is Simply Connect with Laya. We are both in our early 70s. Simply connect is a good plan but expensive. Is there another plan with similar benefits but cheaper.. We don't need to have any joint replacements included..
Would the new level health plans suit us.
Thanks.

is a recent thread with this policy.

Not needing full orthopaedic cover, Level Health C Day to Day looks a decent alternative and is some €400 cheaper.
But note you would have a 2 year waiting period if you wished to re-upgrade this in the future.

Below is a very useful tool to compare policies:

Have you looked at Laya Inspire Plus? It is virtually the same policy as Simply Connect, but with a 20% shortfall for specified orthopaedic and ophthalmic procedures. In addition, overnight excess is payable only once a year(rather than twice with SC), and the Everyday medical expenses is €1000 rather than €500. And it costs less.

Laya Inspire is cheaper still, but not quite as generous as Inspire Plus.

There's also Simplyhealth Extra which Dermot Goode mentioned in a podcast. It's slightly cheaper than Inspire Plus, has some lower overnight excesses, and no specific limit on Everyday medical expenses. I changed one of our policies to this from Inspire Plus last month.

Level Health C looks good, and I explored this but, like several posters here, I've had difficulty getting much sense out of their customer care, so I'll wait until they prove themselves. The devil you know...
