Health Insurance Laya Essential Health 300 vs Laya Simply Connect for a 1st timer?

I'm deciding between these two. I'm 42, male, in very good health (from what I can tell!), and haven't currently got insurance (thankfully I did have health cover from the age of 18 to 27 so I can use those years to cancel out the LCR!)

Both of these seem similar enough, and I was ready to go for Essential Health 300 (€997) but then I see that Simply Connect (€1266) has a lot more "50% back" offers such as "50% back on genetic cancer screening" and "50% back on the consultation to get cancer screening", plus a range of other health screenings.

Would it be worth getting the Simply Connect for my first year, get all my health tests done, get the value out of it, and then drop to the Essential Health 300 the following year if it turns out I have no health concerns?

I'm probably answering my own question here, but just curious to hear from the experts.

Also any other similar cover I should consider from VHI that are roughly on par with Laya's Simply Connect? Thanks!

Also how does the VHI's "Company Plan Plus Level 1.3 " compare to Laya's " Simply Connect "?

Both seem similar enough.. anything in particular stand out?
