Laya Laya Connect Care renewal, The Plan has changed for next year (1 Dec)

2 people, late 60's and on Laya Connect Care which has changed for the worst.

For example, Orthopedic now only covered 80%. Its not needed now but you never know. I spent lots of time looking at Health Secure +, Connect Care 150, Complete Simplicity, Total Health but overwhelmed with the information.

We were happy with Connect Care cover at the 2018 price but the renewal is cheaper but has less.

Any advice would appreciated.

The one alternative plan I would highly recommend instead is Laya Simplicity plan. Details as follows;

1. Laya Simplicity plan; price 1267pa; all public, private(including private room fully covered) and 3 hi-tech hospitals covered; private/hi-tech hospital inpatient excess is capped at 100 x 2 max per year for all admissions, day case excess 50 per procedure. Full orthopedic cover as before. Good day to day cover but the only compromise is the excess of 100. This means the first 100 of medical expenses is not allowed.
Overall, this is a very minor detail, considering the substantial savings to be achieved (900 approx per year).

Complete Simplicity and Health Secure Plus plans are way too expensive for the same hospital cover, plus Connectcare and Connectcare 150 have
a day case excess of 175 in hi-tech hospitals, whereas Simplicity has a 50 excess for these hospitals. Why pay 175 when you can pay 50?

Simplicity plan is probably the best value plan on the market that fully covers a private room in a private hospital, at a very good price.
Paying top dollar for a plan does not necessarily mean better value or better cover.
