Land sale to family member and how many valuations needed?

Can I ask if selling land to a family member, would one valuation from auctioneer suffice or would we get 2 /3 and then take the average price ? Just wondering....maybe the one would be enough? Thank you.
 
Enough for us to determine sale price , maybe I'm complicating things by even asking if 2 valuations needed....if we were selling on the open market, we'd just be going to one auctioneer . Thank you.
 
How do you propose to defend the use of an average of several valuations if Revenue later claim the figure you ended up with is either too high or too low?

Would you envisage bringing the disagreeing valuers into a room and arguing the difference among themselves?

How do you think such a scenario would end up?
 
Just go with one auctioneer, you also have an input, if you think the valuation is too high get another valuation and go with the lowest one. They are professionals and we're paid to do a job but you are not obliged to use their valuation you can throw it in the bin if you want
