Had the same problem with HN recently. DH specifcally asked at time of purchase would our purchase be identical to the showroom item. Guess what - it wasn't. Our dining table arrived with a butterfly ext (not lift out), couple inches less in width, and table top was made up of wide strips of wood and not the narrow type on show. When we rang to complain we were told that was how they are made now. In addition, the table had several scrapes and dents (probably from the planer) and two big indents on one side where it had been damaged. Luckily they agreed to take it back and gave us the table that was on display. Sadly, it does have some scratches on it and I wince when the sun shines on the table. That was my second and last time to buy from HN. I wouldn't bother again. Flahers2, I'm sorry for your problems. Everything in writing is the best way to go. Good luck!
