Jobseekers Benefit-signing on day

Hi

Can anyone help. I've been getting jobseekers benefit for 3 months and its my second sign on day this wednesday. However i will be away till friday(daytime) maybe till evening. I was wondering what i should do?
if i ring the SW office and let them know would it be alright to sign on friday if i'm back? or would they be asking all sorts questions. i can make sure i'm back friday as waiting till monday they might not accept?

Are you available for work while away? If not then you should not be claiming JB for the relevant days.
 
you are allowed to take up to two weeks holiday while you are on job seekers benefit and still get your payment, its best to go into the social welfare office to advise them before you go away.
 
hey thanks for replies. Is is definetly better in call in to SW office just i don't think i'll be able to as i'm heading away mon and they're not opened at the weekend? thanks
 
Call them on Monday morning before you leave and explain your circumstances usually they will say to sign on as soon as possible when you come back
