Konnichiwa,

Would anyone know how to get to the Japanese Gardens by public transport, or is this possible? Would I take the bus to kildare town and walk? Or is there a train that goes near by?

The Arrow service from Heuston is very good to Kildare town.
www.irish-national-stud.ie/visitors.html has more details. Maybe they can tell you about how far to walk etc. Would think it's about 20-30 minutes from train station to walk.

The Kildare bus out of Busaras passes the turn-off to the Japanese Gardens just outside Kildare town. You can walk the last few hundred yards. Check the opening-times in winter before you go down as I think it's quite a short day (e.g. 11.00 to 3.00) and I seem to remember they are not open every day.
