Italian suit scam...

Just to report that this scam is alive and well....a relative got approached near Stillorgan today by well dressed Italian gent in new car, initially asking for directions to the airport then continued with offering him 'free' suit/or leather coat that was 'just his size' as they were samples that his boss had told him not to bring back to Italy.

I know someone who was done by a similar scam years ago (leather jackets). Also in the Stillorgan area.

Well, was the suit / leather jacket as good a quality as the Italian gentleman said ?

It was hilariously poor quality PVC.And he bought three!

One of the oldest conjobs around. My new Italian friend was selling a cutprice canteen of cutlery. Had missed the ferry and was stuck for hotel price etc. He wanted E80 for it (it had cost E275) this was also in Stillorgan but about ten years ago.
