Im with Irish Life First focus, my wife is 57 im 58 and our daughter is 22. First focus cover for all three of is is over 5000 euro. cover for my daughter is 1319 and 1967 for my wife and 1967 and the same for myself. are there other plans that would give the same coverage for less.

Welcome to AAM.

Your policy is expensive and not great on the cover IMHO. Perhaps you could have a look at the Laya Control 600 Connect which includes 100% cover for orthopaedic and ophthalmic which most policies do not include these days including your First Focus. That would be a big bonus to yourself and your wife if in the future if either of you need hip or knee replacements. Even if the 6% increase with Laya due to come into force on 1st April is not included in the figures in this comparison it may still be worth your while to check it out.

I have also seen people mention on AAM about 10% online discount with Laya so that could be another option to consider after you have spoken to them to confirm the cover.

There are differences in the two policies also with excesses and less cover on the day-to-day section but the big difference in premium and the 100% ophth and ortho may compensate for that.

If I were you I would also write to them and get in writing how pre-existing conditions and the Upgrade Rule would affect the move.
