Irish and UK contributory pension

I am 62 years and back living in Ireland.

I am trying to figure out what if any Irish contributory pension I can get when I reach 66.

I have 265 reckon able contributions for pension in Ireland and 22 qualifying years in UK for pension. I cannot afford to pay the gaps needed to bring me to maximum UK pension.

Can I combine my UK pension with my Irish to bring me up to getting the full contributory pension in Ireland.

Any help greatly received as I find this very confusing!!

Thanks

No you cannot combine them. You may use your NI contributions to help you qualify for a small pro rata Irish pension. You may also apply for the non contributory pension which is means tested.

You should try if at all possible to make contributions going forward at £3 a week.

In your shoes I would beg and borrow to scrape together the money to make back contributions.

It’s the best money you can spend.

Are you working and making PRSI contributions in Ireland now?
