A family member is looking at using Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) technology to build a smallish house. While I'm sure it's a fine solution when done right, I suspect that its newness in this country means that there are significant early adopter risks, that it would probably work out more expensive than timber frame (the other alternative), and that it
could be difficult to source subcontractors to work on it (sparks, plumbers etc.)
Anyone got any advice or comment good bad or indifferent? Thanks!
