This is incredible. There's 30% of council tenants just laughing at us.

I see some Labour Councillor is quoted in the article saying: "We have to take this seriously on behalf of the 70pc of tenants who do pay, work hard, and make their contributions"

We have to take this seriously on behalf of the taxpayers that are paying for this, more like. Council rents are very small, the least we can expect is that they are paid. It's tough for young people trying to get on the housing ladder when they're often competing with AHBs and a State with an endless supply of money that is trying to outbid them so they can put council tenants into the house be subsidised by their tax, and in 3 out of 10 cases, they're not even keeping up their end of what is a very good bargain? What a joke.
