Hello,

Anyone else recently receive a refund from ICS Building Society for the period mid 2003 to mid 2004 due to the incorrect discount rate being applied to the mortgage in the first year ?

Very welcome surprise in January 2013 :D

It would be great if you can recall the details ..
- was it the amount of the discount was wrong
- or did they put you back on a wrong rate

The letter I received advised me that they had put me on the incorrect discounted rate in my first year of the mortgage. " The rate of 0.8% was applied instead of 1.06% quoted in my Letter of Offer."

I was completely unaware of this matter. The first I knew of it when slightly over €1,000 was paid directly into one of my non ICS accounts on Monday last. A letter arrived yesterday explaining why I had received the refund.

I called them as I had taken out a second mortgage with them at the same time however they were not able to tell me if I will receive a refund on that mortgage. I will have to wait and see !!
