Hi,
what is the best way to find a financial advisor?
Should I start with the 'Register of Investment Business Firms' on the Central Bank website https: //registers.centralbank.ie/downloadspage.aspx (Newbie so I can't post the link properly!)
Apart from competence and honesty (which no government stamp of approval can guarantee in any case) I'm looking to avoid brokers who will just recommend from a set of products from companies they work with.
Luckily I have around 1m that I can invest. So I need to have someone who can recommend across a wide range of options. I wouldn't rule out property but I thought the idea on some of the threads here of buying companies like Berkshire which are ETF-like in diversity but without the tax implications was very interesting.
I'm open to recommendations from personal experiences of the forum members for advisors in the Limerick or Ennis areas.
But really just the correct list to work from or the qualifications to look out for would be a good start.
Thanks AAM!
