How do I learn to drive

I took lessons in an auto first, and passed easily enough - the advantage is far less co-ordination to be learned so you gain awareness much faster. The downside was having to retake the test and get more lessons to pass on a manual. That said, it was much faster second time around as I only had to get my co-ordination sorted. I actually found the instructor second time around much better and learned some new stuff from him

Why did you do the manual then when you were driving auto?

Was it more choice, vehicle costs, maintenance, fuel costs?
