How can I avoid my grandchildren having to pay inheritance tax?

We want to gift an amount of €3000 each year per grand child ,( we have two grandkids) into an equity account, which we can manage for them ? any advice please on a type of account, where the charges wont dilute so much ?
Here is what we would like to put aside for them,
Granparent 1. €3000 per child , total €6000 per year.
Granparent 2. €3000 per child, total €6000 per year.
This the amount allowable by revenue ?
