How are allocations "paid"?

Quick question — how does one go about spending the allocations for kitchen, tiling etc from a developer?

Do you order the stuff and let them pay or how does it work?

We got sent a cheque.
Contacted the developer and they posted it out to us

Some developers have approved suppliers that you have to go to. Call them and ask what way they work it.

If we provide the Kitchen, bathrooms, etc, then we pay the builder for the house less the allocations/pc sums.
