House title deeds storage

I presume that making a (physical or electronic) copy of the deeds/documentation would help in the worst case scenario of the originals being destroyed? At the very least it would presumably help with reconstituting them after such a mishap?
 
Hi,

Just transferring a Folio Number from my Uncle who passed away this year, into my name. The Grant of probate has come through ( I did myself). I am making a personal application to PRAI for transfer of ownership of Folio. As far as I understand from solictor where my Uncle made his will, there was no deeds to the house, not sure if they got lost. If you have any questions, just give PRAI a call, they are very helpful.
