I've been looking for various ways to get hotel discounts - avoiding the typical "click here for the cheapest room rate on the internet" type stuff.
Having successfully enjoyed some good discounts from various reward clubs such as:
www.priorityclub.com
& Hilton HHonors
I then discovered that if your a shareholder at the Hilton, then you get a shareholders discount (15% off the room & food, not sure what else). A share in the Hilton will cost you approx £3 with dealing fees of approx £20 - a once off cost, needless to say.
Anyone know if the same can be done with other hotel groups, or if there are other ways to get good discounts on hotel rooms, while retaining the benifit of booking your room in advance etc ?
