Is it possible to get a home insurance quote for your property in Ireland from an insurance company based outside of Ireland? I know this is possible for holiday homes abroad etc but I'm curious if the same applies to your main residence in Ireland?

In theory yes. But it is unlikely that an insurane company based out of ireland will quote on a one-off basis. If they had any interest they would already be in the irish market.
