Hi all, looking to buy a decent home cinema system but if possible would also like it to include a dvd recorder.Anyone got any reccomendations? Thanks in advance.
If you're looking for a dvd recorder, I'd look for one with a hard drive. Stops having to reuse disks, pauses tv etc.
Lots of other variables:
- what sources do you have, cable tv, sky, sky+, xbox, etc.
- any plans to go high definition HD? Only sky and xbox 360 at the moment it seems.
- what display are you using?
- are you looking for an audio amplifier & surround sound also?
Thanks for the reply, really just looking for something with a good sound as i have a lot of music dvd's.I have sky+ and just thought i may as well buy a system including a dvd recorder to save on wires, clutter etc.
If you have a Sky+ box, its worth looking for an amp or all in one box that will take an optical cable input.
The sound is much better and you will get full value for the movies etc. that are broadcast in Dolby Digital. This is because gives you all the channels seperately and this sounds infinitely better.
Bear in mind as well that assuming you live in a semi-d that there is no point buying a system that has an output of 125W per speaker with a 140W woofer. You simply won't be able to get the benefit of it unless you want your neighbours to take court action against you.
Do make sure your system goes to 11.....
Sorry, from a very famous scene in the movie "This is Spinal Tap". Google it. Could be regarded as one of the funniest scenes in one of the funniest movies of all time. For those who haven't seen it, put it on your list of to dos....
