Does anyone know if there is a list of historical mortgage rates offered by PTSB around the time of the redress issues?
We were placed on what they referred to as their "Prevailing Rate," which was 2.25% above the ECB rate. This seems quite high. Our mortgage was later sold to Pepper, despite being performing at the time (though it was a financial struggle). We suspect this may have been some form of penalty imposed by PTSB.
Our current rate is 5.15%, reducing to 4.9% from April 1st. The ECB rate is 2.65% + our 2.25% Tracker.
I am trying to determine the rate we should have been on, as we are now considering fixing our mortgage for the remaining 10 years and want to assess whether it would be a worthwhile decision.
While maybe I am jumping ahead here but is the next battle going to be what tracker rate they will actually apply because my understanding would be that most of the mortgage agreements were silent on the actual tracker margin to be used. When I broke out of my fixed terms the ECB lending rate...
