I currently have two children under six who are receiving Domiciliary care allowance. For about two years now. However, I have had to resort to part time work just to able to take care of the children as we receive calls from school on random times to either pick up the child for being sick, dis comfort, crying etc. I also being the only person currenlty driving makes it abit difficult as well.

Our financial situation also took a plunge. So we decided to apply for carrer allowance under my name. The decision was refused on the grounds that, my part time hours are above limit and also my part time studies (which is 100% online with 6 hours a week). The part time job, i am suprised they mention is above hours whereas, i could more a month without work and some weeks will be very busy

We have even resorted to get help from St Vincint de Paul for food vouchers just to keep up while awaiting the carer application decision.

I plan on appealing the decision because without it, my life and that of my family will continue decline as its currently unbearable. I can give up on the work as its casual but the partime studies is almost on completion and a very good cousre as i managed to get funding from Springboard.

I will like to seek advice on how to proceed and what documents will be relevant to help for the appeal.
Cheers.
