Health spending

The health service consists of much more than just the Hospitals

For example there are several legions employed in Care in The Community.

If it were not for them there would be much greater demand on hospital and nursing home beds.

Getting back to the original point, exactly how many are employed in the Health service in all it's guises. Is 100,000 to care for a 4 million population incorrect? Does this compare with the 1.3 million to service a 60 million population the UK, or is it an apples and oranges comparison?

Not to mention that the NHS, despite how the British complain about it, is in a far far better state than our own health system. And only the very rich have private health insurance over there too.
