I went in to the Halifax in Nutgrove Shopping centre today to make enquiries to open an account.
I was told that a drivers licence was better I.D. than a passport if I wanted to open an account. I was told that if I bring in my passport I will also have to bring something with me to confirm my residence for tax status?
Can anyone clarify why this is required as I understood that DIRT is decucted at source?
