i just got my halifax cc bill today and noticed that their apr rate is now 10.9%. it was 9.5%. it came into effect on 01/06/08 and that was a week and a half ago. i think i should have been notified sooner.

Noticed this myself and saw it on itsyourmoney web site. No 'online' facility to view transactions only balance and now TSB/ NIB and AIB with lower rates maybe time for a move
People really should use credit cards so that the interest rate charged is academic/irrelevant - i.e. use them as a cashflow tool rather than a source of longer term credit and clear their balances before interest charges kick in.

the cash advance rate has increased from 11.2% to 15.5 a massive 40% increase!. absoulty shocking increase with very little mention of it exept in the statement you get for June.
I for one will be cancelling and moving to permanent tsb. It seems Halifaxs philosophy was get em in with a cheap rate and increase when ya have em all signed up.
