Thanks...rhe diy approach may in theory produce the same or better outcome.with more control etc ..but execution is a different matter ..setting it up, fees, trade management etc .. if there any merit in it (and I'm not saying there is) ..then just let the provider do it
It's essentially an option product - a collar (a mixture of calls and puts).
You'd probably be better off taking 10% of the amount you were thinking of investing in this and buying equivalent options
