the door came off on our oven. Its attached by a couple of small screws at the top near the handle and is glued to a couple of hinges at the bottom. It became detached from the hinge end I need to attach it with some heat resistant adhesive. It a glass (door) to metal (hinge) connection. Any ideas?

Hi, You need a 'high temperature silicone adhesive'. Try here

Hi

As Cat101 has suggested, you need a high temperature silicone sealant glue.
There are a number of companies that manufacture a suitable one. Dow corning, Ambersil and ACC silcoset for example.
http://ovendoorglue.co.uk offer a small kit specifically for your problem, and ship within the UK and Ireland.
Often you can use the impression on the silicon left behind from the failed bond to identify exactly where the hinges should be placed. Make sure you make notes/ mark position before removing the old adhesive.
You need to make sure the old adhesive is removed properly otherwise the new silicone adhesive will not stick properly.
Typically the adhesive dries in about 8 hours but you should allow 24 hours before applying any stress to ensure that has properly cured.

Notice of interest - in accordance with forum rules I advise that I am associated with the company that sells the oven door glue kit.
