Not so sure about John Williams. Always a bit of a thug on the field. I wasn't surprised the Kiwis hoofed him in Cardiff. Cynical stiff-arm tackle on C.I.M.H. Gibson also stands out.
He was one of only two tour members - the other being then geriatrician Ken Kennedy - who were doctors and upon whose shoulders fell the burden of injury treatment. By all accounts JPR laughed off most requests for help - save only to suggest a stiff gin and tonic.
