Hi all,
Would welcome some input if possible. I am completing a form 11, where the sole income (apart from PAYE) is rental. My spouse went back into the workplace after several years out in 2023. Is there any reason I can't allocate the entirety of the rental income, and associated deductions (mortgage interest etc.) to my spouse, as she is on the lower-rate tax band? Failing this, could I allocate the income in, say, 66% to them and 33% to myself? We are jointly assessed.
thanks in advance for any thoughts.
