Hi there,

I need to pay the 41% tax on one EU etf and one Irish etf.
In form 11, do i put the irish one under 322 like I will do with the eu one, or under 409?
Also, this gain was made in March 2020, when should I submit the form? For now I only see the one relating to 2019 available. Thanks

What do you mean by an Irish etf?

If you purchased this through an Irish Investment firm, they should be handling the tax for you

If you mean an etf that happens to be domiciled in Ireland but that you purchased through a foreign broker then yes you will report this in your 2020 tax return which will be due in Oct 2021

But you will have to pay preliminary income tax for your 2020 income by Oct 31st 2020

I fill mine in online so do not recognise your references 322 or 409, sorry

Sorry, but this is not correct.

When the units of the Irish investment are held via a recognised clearing system (which most are), there’s no obligation on the firm to deduct tax.

The taxpayer accounts for the 41% via his/her Form 11.
