Emergency tax back?

Apologies if this is in the wrong place, or if there's a 'simple question, simple answer' thread that I missed.

I had my first job this year and I had a lot of emergency tax taken away as I had some trouble filling out the necessary forms to stop it being taken, and so I had emergency tax deducted on a regular basis.

I thought I was entitled to a full tax refund, but since we've just gone into a new year I've heard that that may be compromised and not given to me at all. Can anyone confirm that this is true or not true?
 
If you have overpaid your tax you will get it back in 2014, you will have to forward your P60 to the revenue to reclaim it. If your tax was sorted out in 2013 then your employer would have repaid you the overpayment.

Tax refunds can be claimed within 4 years, see the following taken from www.revenue.ie

Is there a time limit for claiming refunds?

Yes. Claims for refunds must be made within 4 years of the end of the year to which the claim relates. Claims made after this time cannot be repaid.
