Email notification Sound

Hello one and all,

Does anyone know of a way to set up an audio notification for new emails??

I use gmail and would ideally like to know straight away when I get an email.

Alternatively if there was a way to receive a visual notification on my desktop that would be equally usefull.

Does gmail mean that you do not use outlook express. It is easy to set up sound notification with outlook express.
You probably have the option as well if you go in to your settings.

Download something like this freeware which will notify you when a new mail has been recieved into your gmail account and also is configurable to play a sound of your choice.

Although unfortunately that is for windows only and I'm on MAC.

Have you tried Thunderbird? That's free and should work on a Mac.

It's basically an open-source version of Outlook (better than outlook express!)
