Educational Trust

Hi All
A friend of mine died & we wish to set up an educational trust for his children - can anyone advise the best way to go about setting this up (tax efficiently if possible) - just general info would be great - I do relaise I will have to go to a lawyer @ some stage!

Are you sure its a trust you want? How many are people involved? How much money is involved? What purpose are you trying to achieve? You may need nothing more than an invesment account in the children's names or you may need the whole trust thing, or maybe a charitable company is the way to go Think carefully about the above questions then contact a good tax consultant, they tend to be the trust experts, you should also check if there are any other trusts benefiting the children
