e-mail address with Irish domain

Hi..
Got an e-commerce business deal with American company which includes their setting up of web site and e-mail address. I proposed a name with .ie domain and .ie e-mail.
Few days later the American crowd came back with a .com website and info@company.com e-mail . I explained to them that I have to have a .ie domain and address , unfortunatelly they are not able to help excpet by advicing to buy an Irish domain and link it to the .com one .
Since my business is considered 'micro" size business and it is mainly a charity thing so cost is so important .

Technically speaking is it possible to resolve this conflict ? I am looking to have a .ie domain linked to my existing .com site and to get an info@company.ie e-mail address linked to info@company.com address . what would be the associated cost ?

Any advice is highly appreciated

We use Irish Domains to register our company website. I know they and Eircom supply .ie, perhaps the American site can't.
Try contacting one of them and if you specified that you wanted a .ie and not .com web address they shouldn't charge you.
Also, they should be able to link the .ie site and .com site together with no problem.

Shouldn't cost much - although the costs for an .ie domain are higher than for a .com. You'll probably end up paying approx 50 euro (can't remember exactly what I paid, but was in that ballpark 35-60)
There are also restrictions on who can apply for a .ie address, so you need to satisfy these, but if you are registered in Ireland, that will not be a problem. Any hosting service should be able to facilitate this - I've used letshost.ie in the past, but there are many others out there
 
In fact I registered in cro as a sole trader . 50 euro is fine , any advice for good company that provide those 2 services to my company ?
 
There are plenty of Irish hosting companies to choose from these days.

For IE domains prices vary from around €30 - €120 / year ex-VAT

Entry level hosting shouldn't cost you more than about €30 - €40 ex-vat per year
 
if ure a registered charity then you can get a .ie name for nothing. All you would need to pay for is the hosting.

It isnt a big issue - you can register the .ie domain name and point it to the .com. You can do the same with the emails - info@company.ie will be an alias of info@company.com so people can email you on either address.

If I was you Id get the .ie name registered and work from there

Pointing .ie and .com email address to the same mail server is done via DNS, the MX records for the .ie would need to point to the same place to your existing .com MX record. The mail server would need to be configured to accept mail for the .ie domain also

If you want both websites to point to the same place it can be done with just a CNAME pointing to the .com site on the WWW entry in DNS for the .ie domain or point the WWW record directly to the ip the site is hosted on and configure a host header or server alias etc for the .ie address
 
You can create the email address info@company.ie on the mail server if you administer it, you will have to get whoever host the dns to add the MX record unless they have a control panel access to it for you to make that changes yourself.
 
Unfortunatelly , I do not administer the mail server . Who normally then administer the mail server ? Same crowd who register the .ie domain name ?

This business doesn't currently belong to charity but when business is set and running hopefully in a month or two , it will be moved to a church , so I am doing every thing with my own money and later will be presented to this church up and running
