Not sure if this is of any use?
It's a real shame that Dublin City Council ceased (?) the Passport for Leisure scheme.

NOTICE

As of January 2019, the council stopped processing new online or postal applications for Passport for Leisure. Existing members will enjoy their services until the card expires.

Get up-to-date information from the Facebook page, and if you are over 60 years of age, lookout for a replacement card soon.

OPW Heritage cards is €30 for over 60s, normal price is €40

AIB, BOI and PTSB do not apply charges to current accounts for those who are 66 and over. For joint accounts both holders must be 66 or over. You must apply for this, they do not cease charging automatically. If you already have a current account they simply cease charging once you apply, it does not require you to open a new account.

You'd want to suffer from dimentia and be senior to shop at woodies and pay their prices
Was about to post similar. Most of those big stores are far more expensive for most of their products. Big stores, lots of advertising, and the amount of stock that gets damaged on display are expensive. They can be fine for some heavily advertised items, but you need to do your homework.

You'd want to suffer from dimentia and be senior to shop at Woodies and pay their prices which are at least 50% more than what you'd pay elsewehere such as screwfix.

Agree but stick my head in and sometimes get a bargain.. last time was a small metal stepladder for 11.99 and after Christmas picked up Christmas tree lights at 60% discount.
Their own branded stuff is dreadfully poor quality especially the paint, painful lesson years ago.

Not entirely true! If you watch what you are buying you can do well, I got a Karcher window washer last year and Woodies was cheaper than anywhere else even before the discount and I did check Screwfix as well as many others! I also bought rolls of attic insulation there few years ago for cheaper than everywhere else including all local builders providers.

Same as any purchase, shop around.
