Disability allowance is it difficult to qualify

Is it difficult to qualify for Disability allowance..health problems..60 year old lady currently w on CE scheme.

Disability Allowance is a means tested payment for people who have an illness or disability which severely restricts their ability to work.

There are 2 elements to qualifying - medical and financial.

Applications can take a long time to be processed, and medical details will be sought from GP or consultants, so it's not a speedy process.

Presumably if able for the CE scheme then on the face of it wouldn't be eligible for DA?
