Dilemma

Subject: Dilemma

You are driving along in your car on a wild, stormy night, when you pass
by a bus stop, and you see three people waiting for the bus:

1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.

Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could
only be one passenger in your car?

Think before you continue reading...

This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a
job application. You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to
die, and thus you should save her first; or you could take the old
friend because he once saved your life and this would be the perfect
chance to pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your
perfect mate again.

The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble
coming up with his answer. He simply answered: "I would give the car
keys to my old friend and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would
stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams."

Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought imitations.
Never forget to "Think Outside of the Box."

What was the job? Rally driver?

What a great way to explain thinking outside the box.....

O.. rally driver..... well you won't certainly get the job anyway that's for sure!

thinking outside the box.....

True Blue - you're the last person that I would have expected to fall for management speak bullshit! :lol

You don’t have to be into mgmt bull to recognize the benefits of thinking outside the box…. By the way
thanks for the compliment.

Re: Utter Nonsense

I've always thought that this was utter nonsense. I certainly wouldn't have given the candidate the job.

He must be desperate or delusional if he can spot
The perfect partner you have been dreaming about
while driving through a storm. And what kind of person is it who's perfect partner who just stands around while a little old lady looks like she is dying?

I would give the car keys to my old friend and let him take the lady to the hospital
Great way to treat an old friend. Dump the resposibility on him while you try chatting up someone at a bus stop on a stormy night.

What was the job? Lawyer or Estate Agent?

Nogser

Re: Utter Nonsense

I would have just picked up the hot chick. Sure mates understand these things and the old lady...well, she's had a good innings :lol

Re: Utter Nonsense

'What was the job? Lawyer or Estate Agent?'

Why do psychologists use lawyers or estate agents in their experiments?

Because the scientists know that they are even somethings a rat won't do!

Is that one passenger in addition to the canoe, chicken, fox and grain in the boot?

Answer?

Get your mate to drive the old lady and wait for the bus with the partner of your dreams
