Could someone please explain the difference between a Small Self Administered Pension and a Self Directed Pensions. Also, is a SSAP different to a Self Administered Pension

Thank you

Both terms can be interchangeable.
However sometimes the Self Directed term can also apply to Insured Plans (operated by an Insurance Co.) which allow a certain level of direction by the client as to the assets purchased by the Plan (property, direct equities etc).
An SSAP tends to be a non-insured plan, with independent Trustees, and where the client is more actively involved in the investment decision making.
